 "Spawning Rainbow, Missouri River" - May 2020

This watercolor painting is of a spawning rainbow trout that my son Luke caught and released on April 18, 2020 at the Land of the Giants area of the Missouri River. His spawning colors are deeper orange and darker green, not as pink as most rainbow, possibly due to the deeper water and shady spots along the Missouri River. Each fish is unique, their colors change according to habitat and age. The drips of paint highlight the colors and watery world of the trout.
